Color Me Rad 5K Run | Orem, Utah

I know, I know, it looks just like my Holi post from a month or so back. But that's because the Color Me Rad 5K Run basically was the same thing... except this time, people jogged around. As an event, I thought Holi was a lot cooler and more fun to shoot, but I did what I could in an hour's time for Color Me Rad. Enjoy the color insanity, once again.

Rebuilding with the ReStore | Fifth Anniversary

The ReStore - which I mistakenly thought was a Washington thing - was celebrating its fifth anniversary in business. The following image is the fruit of my labor from creeping around aisles of the store with a camera to get some art for the story. Luckily, I didn't need to creep too long; two gentlemen let me cruise around with them as they searched for a door for a project they were working on. When a moment can't be found, go graphic and something will come. After all, they're just pictures. At the end of the day, the point is to enjoy looking at them. So... enjoy!

The store - founded, owned and operated by Habitat for Humanity - is celebrating its fifth year with a sale. Donations and proceeds from the ReStore fund efforts by Habitat for Humanity.

The Peruvian Fire Engine

Let there be light! A normal day turned great when I was sent to photograph a group of volunteers cleaning out an old firetruck destined for use in Peru. Not only did the weather clear up, but the calm of the cleaning was sporadically broken by impromptu water fights. Naturally, I became a target. Go figure.  This post - as many others are on this blog - reflect the beauty of working a "found" experience while out on assignment. As every photojournalist knows, not everything is perfect - but that sure doesn't mean you can't go out and have a good time.  Enjoy!

Jason Alexander of "Seinfeld" visits Utah Valley University

I about lost it when this popped up in the assignment list for the day. Over the years, I've been lucky enough to photograph some icons of our age, and this man is - without question - an icon of simliar sorts. Ask anyone anywhere if they know what Seinfeld is...  I think you know what the answer is going to be.

A group of acting students and faculty enjoyed the first of three days of conversation and critique with television star Jason Alexander, right, of Seinfeld fame, on Monday, February 27, 2012, in the Noorda Theater at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.

First Day | Daily Herald

I think it is only right to post some frames from the first day of every internship, whether they are good or bad.  The images made the first day are personal benchmark; a sort of starting place that should serve as a constant reminder of what was as time rushes onward.  On my final day at the Herald, I will look back at this post - and hopefully laugh.

Fitness fair.  Weather features.  BYU basketball.  Fun first day.  Enjoy a chuckle at my expense.

Fossum and Peay, along with the other women in the demonstration, all work as instructors at the community center. The event offered informational stations boasting new health programs and products for attendees.

Bryan, his wife and his two children enjoyed the light dusting of snow with his parents, both of whom recently relocated to Utah from Southern California.

Brothers Skyler Crawford, left, and Spencer Crawford, right, chase after their friend, Ethan Gaylord, with intent to pelt him with snowballs Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, in Pleasant Grove. Before the battle, the trio enjoyed sledding down the hill outside of the Pleasant Grove Community Center. "We're bummed about the little snow so far," Skyler said, "but we're taking advantage of what we have."
